In Win for Cancer Alley Residents, EPA Finalizes Rule Targeting Toxic Polluters
Briefly

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a final rule updating Clean Air Act standards to reduce pollution from approximately 200 of the nation's most hazardous chemical manufacturing facilities, benefiting communities in industrialized areas like Cancer Alley.
The new regulations will result in a reduction of more than 6,200 tons of toxic air pollutants each year, aiming to lower the number of people at risk of cancer significantly in the vicinity of these chemical plants.
"Waking up every day with the fear of what you're breathing in is a reality Louisiana's communities have lived with for too long," stated Wilma Subra, emphasizing the urgent need for further EPA actions to decrease chemical exposure burdens and improve community health.
