The Alabama Legislature moved quickly. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed an IVF protection bill into law on March 6, 2024 - a mere 19 days after the Alabama Supreme Court handed down its decision. Light speed for government work.
Alabama amended its law with respect to in vitro fertilization, and states that 'no action, suit, or criminal prosecution for the damage to or death of an embryo shall be brought or maintained against any individual or entity when providing or receiving services related to in vitro fertilization.'
