After months of advocacy, the school converted one multi-stall bathroom to all-gender and promised more gender-neutral bathrooms in the future.
Not being able to meet their basic needs, they said, made them feel invisible or unwelcome, like school wasn't a place for them.
For trans youth, bathrooms are inherently tied to feelings of belonging, acceptance and even their mental health.
