An entity tied to Afterpay co-founder Nick Molnar, Lapro Property Trust, purchased the Funny Girl Estate in Holmby Hills for $65 million, making it the highest-priced residential sale in Los Angeles County this year.
The estate, previously owned by British pop singer Robbie Williams, boasts a 18,900-square-foot Georgian-style main house with lavish amenities such as a garage for over 15 cars, a sauna, fitness center, guesthouses, wine cellar, saltwater pool, and vegetable gardens.
Transfer tax of nearly $3.9 million under Measure ULA, a 5.5 percent tax on residential and commercial sales above $10 million, was paid by Lapro Property Trust for the acquisition.
Despite the hefty taxes, expensive properties in L.A. are still seeing significant transactions; Lapro Property Trust also owns another estate in Bel-Air, emphasizing the active luxury real estate market.
