Right fielder Jason Heyward, put on the injured list because of lower-back tightness on April 3, took batting practice and ran wind sprints Friday and appears to be on track to return sometime next week. Per Mike DiGiovanna of The Los Angeles Times
Heyward would be a welcomed addition to the Dodgers lineup, giving them even more firepower on offense. The hope is for him to provide similar production to last season, being one of the more valuable members of the team.
The injury to Heyward may have influenced his slow start, but the team remains cautious to prevent any lingering issues throughout the season.
