Billy Bean, the former outfielder and MLB's Senior VP for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, passed away at 60 after battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Bean, who played for the Dodgers, Tigers, and Padres, became the second MLB player to come out as gay in 1999, advocating for LGBTQ+ athletes.
