The Seattle Mariners claimed pitcher Eduardo Salazar off waivers from the Dodgers. Salazar, 26, threw two innings and struck out three batters without allowing a run in his only appearance in the majors this season, May 15 in San Francisco.
Thursday, Salazar was claimed off waivers by the Mariners and optioned to Triple-A Tacoma. Last year Salazar appeared in eight games with the Cincinnati Reds and allowed 11 runs in 12.1 innings (an 8.03 ERA).
