According to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, if Walker Buehler's fourth rehab start goes well on Thursday, he could return to a major league mound for the first time since June 10, 2022 as early as next week.
Adding a former All-Star like Buehler back to their rotation would not only enhance the quality of pitching but also provide much-needed quantity, especially with other pitchers on the injured list or unavailable.
If he can reach that 90-pitch mark in his rehab, Buehler will have the endurance of a fully built-up starter, benefiting the team by relieving pressure on the bullpen as long as he can pitch effectively for extended periods.
