Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an update on the two-time All-Star on Tuesday, saying he is expected to start hitting in the batting cages in the next two days.
Muncy will go on a one- or two-game rehab assignment before he is ready to rejoin the Dodgers 'some time next week.'
Muncy has been a force in his seven-year Dodger career, slashing .230/.354/.486 with an .840 OPS, 184 home runs, and 500 RBIs in 2,667 at-bats.
