Bologna announced Thursday that Thiago Motta will - as has been widely expected and was seemingly the only option that seemed possible - not renew his contract with Bologna.
Motta is expected to sign shortly after the season comes to an end this weekend, with a three-year contract worth a salary of €4 million per season all but agreed upon.
Thiago Motta communicated to the Club his intention not to renew his contract with Bologna FC 1909. Having taken note of the decision, the Club thanks the coach for the extraordinary work done.
"In these two years I have met a prepared and winning coach," declares President Joey Saputo, "who has given the team a brilliant playing identity. The achievement of qualifying for the Champions League consigns him and all the players to the history of our Club.
