Planned Parenthood of Montana confirmed it was targeted in a cybersecurity incident, recognized on August 28, and immediately implemented incident response protocols.
RansomHub, a ransomware group, revealed that they stole 93 gigabytes of data from Planned Parenthood and demanded a ransom by September 11.
CEO Martha Fuller assured the community they are taking the cybersecurity incident seriously and have reported it to federal law enforcement for investigation.
The incident aligns with increased scrutiny on abortion rights in Montana, particularly following the successful collection of signatures for a constitutional amendment.
