AWS users are getting a big security boost with passkey support
Briefly

Starting next month, root users of standalone accounts will be required to use MFA when signing in to the AWS Management Console. This policy change will be gradually rolled out to customers with a grace period and reminders at sign-in.
MFA is crucial as traditional password security is vulnerable to breaches. Stolen or leaked credentials pose significant risks to cloud infrastructure, with attackers finding valid credentials a common entry point for cyber-attacks.
