Three individuals suspected of espionage for a Chinese secret service were arrested in Germany, aiming to access military-related technologies and establish contacts in the scientific community.
The trio allegedly signed agreements with a German university for 'knowledge transfer' and engaged in projects related to advanced machine parts for ship engines, financed by Chinese state agencies.
They were also in negotiations for research projects to enhance China's maritime combat capabilities and are accused of unauthorized purchase and export of a laser from Germany for the MSS.
