Sonos' controversial app update in May was 'obviously a failure,' according to Sonos CEO Patrick Spence, who acknowledged that the rollout was premature and lacked proper testing.
Spence stated that the app was released too early in order to accommodate their first headphones, Ace, and admitted that they underestimated the system's complexity.
After the backlash, Sonos noted that 'more than 80 percent of the app's missing features have been reintroduced,' with plans for near-total restoration in the coming weeks.
Executives including Spence will not receive bonuses for the last fiscal year due to the app's debacle, reflecting their accountability for the failure.
