British cyclist Mark Cavendish won a record 35th Tour de France stage, surpassing Eddy Merckx's longstanding record of 34 since 1975.
Cavendish's victory on stage five marked his first win since 2021, following a heroic comeback from a collarbone injury sustained in the previous Tour de France.
Despite facing challenges, including vomiting during the race, Cavendish's determination and support from his team led him to make history by achieving the 35th stage win.
