Olympic torch makes Acropolis overnight stop a week before handover to Paris organizers

The flame spent the night at the ancient Acropolis in Athens, being lit by a torchbearer in front of the 2,500-year-old Parthenon temple, before moving to Delphi and then Volos.
Ceremoniously lit at the birthplace of the ancient Games, Olympia, the torch is carried around Greece by torchbearers, with parts of the relay using ferry or plane transport.
