Meteo France predicts a 50% chance of a hotter than normal summer, with a 70% probability in the Mediterranean and drought conditions in the south-east.
Although heatwaves cannot be forecasted more than eight days in advance, some areas may experience brief cooler periods amidst the overall higher temperatures.
