UK holidaymakers face 7 EU visa waiver next summer
Briefly

The EU is set to introduce a visa waiver for British citizens by the first half of 2025, facilitating travel similar to the US ESTA.
EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson confirmed that non-EU travelers must use the Entry/Exit Scheme starting November 10, refreshing passport checks and screening.
ETIAS, launching in 2025, will require travelers to apply for a waiver, valid for three years or until passport expiry, to enter the Schengen Area.
Johansson emphasized that the new systems—EES and ETIAS—are designed to enhance border security and address overstays, improving safety across Europe.
