"This historic vote was imposed by a people who chose courage over resignation. This inspires me for our common future," said the president, reflecting on the change sought by Senegal's youth.
He campaigned on promises such as fighting corruption and securing a bigger share of the country's natural resources for the population, reflecting widespread frustration among Senegal's youth.
