Revealed: Emory University investigated over alleged anti-Muslim discrimination
Briefly

The US government has opened an investigation into Emory University for alleged discrimination against students with Palestinian, Muslim or Arab ancestry, following a complaint filed in April under title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
At least six title VI claims have been made recently regarding discriminatory treatment of Palestinian, Muslim and Arab students on US campuses, with universities like Columbia, Rutgers, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill also facing similar complaints.
The complaints include incidents related to Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapters, with controversies leading to suspensions at Brandeis and Columbia; however, such language used in discussions, even if objectionable, is typically protected by the first amendment and university policies.
The US Department of Education's office of civil rights has seen a significant increase in complaints related to shared ancestry allegations, including antisemitic and Islamophobic claims, with 343 complaints since October, compared to the numbers in previous fiscal years.
