Brockton police reported that a 21-year-old man, Markenson Beuge, was arrested following an incident where a middle school student was sexually assaulted while walking home.
Interim Superintendent Priya Tahiliani stated, "We are working closely with the Brockton Police Department to support the student and family affected by this deeply concerning incident."
Police spokesperson mentioned, "Thanks to Brockton Detectives for helping the School Police in their investigation," indicating a collaborative effort in apprehending the suspect.
The police announced that Beuge was apprehended at a Wendy's restaurant in Easton where he works, highlighting the quick response to the crime.
