Summer is a busy time for the AUSD with numerous facility projects including building a new athletic field for Encinal Junior & Senior High School, updating Alameda High's Kofman Auditorium, and installing new systems at various school sites.
The district is focused on creating better facilities and campuses for students and staff, recognizing the potential inconveniences to the community such as dust, noise, and traffic congestion.
Custodians are engaged in deep cleaning at school sites while the Food and Nutrition Services staff manages the free summer meals program at several locations every weekday for visitors ages 18 or younger.
