Government to review migrant supports as tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees face welfare cuts
Briefly

The Government will sign off on plans to standardize social welfare rates for all Ukrainian refugees in designated accommodation centers in Ireland at €38.80 per adult and €29.80 per child. Jobseeker's Allowance recipients will see reduced rates to match new arrivals over 12 weeks.
Ministers for Children and Social Protection will review entitlements of International Protection applicants, reporting back within six weeks. The Government pledges increased staffing in IPO offices, faster asylum processing, and enhanced accommodation facilities on state lands.
The UK is expected to appeal the ruling that certain aspects of the Illegal Migration Act should not apply in Northern Ireland. This act grants powers to detain and remove asylum seekers considered to have entered the UK illegally.
