Included in the renderings was a senior care facility called Legends Landing, intended to serve aging N.F.L. retirees with cognitive diseases linked to repeated head hits. The care facility, part of a $500 million development plan, has not been built, and an amusement park now stands in its place.
Legends Landing was trumpeted by N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, with significant early support from Tom Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints. However, despite initial enthusiasm and funding commitments, the project appears to have been abandoned.
