The storm off the Carolinas has produced historic rainfall, with over half a foot reported in southeastern North Carolina and significant flash flooding expected to continue.
Forecasters did not initially predict such heavy rainfall for the storm, but some areas have reported nearly 15 inches, rivaling totals from Tropical Storm Debby.
