Optional dungeons in FFXIV are unlocked after the main story of each expansion, requiring specific side quests with blue quest markers to access them.
Most players may not find the Level 50/60/70/80 Duty Roulette essential, but it can be beneficial for acquiring tomes and EXP.
Players can opt not to clear optional dungeons unless they desire specific rewards like minions, orchestrion rolls, Triple Triad cards, which can also be bought from the marketboard.
