Since 2017, Mawari's journey has highlighted the transformation of 'framed' media into 'frameless' experiences, leading a 'phygital' revolution that merges digital and physical interactions.
The inspiration behind Mawari emerged during the co-founding of MUTEK Japan, where we recognized the challenges artists faced with Virtual Reality. We aimed to be the solution to those barriers.
Mawari, meaning 'your surroundings' in Japanese, embodies our mission to dismantle conventional frames and envision a new reality for how we engage with media.
Our foundational principle was radical: to evolve media beyond screens, allowing seamless interaction between virtual objects and the real world, a true paradigm shift.
