studio iyra's digitally crafted parametric chair forms an infinite loop
Briefly

The core concept driving La Linea is the desire to blend the perspectives of both designer and manufacturer to craft furniture that is both sculptural and functional. studio iyra has digitally crafted the chair, designing it for semi-automated fabrication using 3-axis CNC machining and digital component mapping.
Each component is machined from an HDHMR sheet, the entire surface of which is utilized without producing any wastage. To reduce machining complexity and production costs a desired thickness of 24mm was achieved by gluing together two 12mm pieces.
