Love is so sacred in a culture of domination, because it simply begins to erode your dualisms: dualisms of black and white, male and female, right and wrong. I'm a seeker on a path... a path about love.
The show focuses on 20 years of Mickaelene's work, including pieces from 2003 to 2024, showing an arc of her career from postgraduate period to the present.
The title of the exhibition, 'All About Love,' was suggested by Mickalene Thomas, centering on bell hooks' book after the show was in development for many months.
