chaoffice designs this house of bluff like a concrete 'playground' in beijing village
Briefly

The House of Bluff stands as an example of transformation and renewal, rejuvenating a derelict property in a quiet village in Beijing.
Inspired by Lucas Cranach the Elder's painting, the architects used simple geometric forms to turn the wasteland into a rejuvenating space, mirroring the painting's themes of contrast.
The design aims to create openness despite the limited building footprint, utilizing semi-outdoor spaces to balance the imposing nature of the adjacent structure.
Central to the design is a versatile cubic unit, which allows for flexibility in space, and enhances light and sight-lines throughout the property.
