Volvo EX90 Production Started In Charleston, South Carolina
Briefly

Volvo Cars officially started series production of its all-new Volvo EX90 model at its factory in South Carolina, with the first customer-bound SUV being a Denim Blue model destined for the U.S. market. Local production is crucial for access to federal tax credits under an $80,000 price cap.
The Volvo EX90, based on the SPA2 platform, offers 6- and 7-seat versions with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain and a 111-kilowatt-hour battery, priced starting at $76,695. The SUV's EPA driving range is expected to reach 300 miles.
The Charleston factory, opened in 2018 and also producing the S60 sedan, now has an estimated annual capacity of up to 150,000 units for the S60 and EX90 models. It features an expanded body and paint shop and a new battery pack production line.
Volvo's move to produce the EX90 in the U.S. signals a shift towards electrification in the American market, with a focus on all-electric cars over hybrid models. However, uncertainty looms over the EX30 model due to high tariffs on China-made EVs.
