Cost of typical home went up by 20,000 in a year due to supply squeeze
Briefly

The typical, or median, price of a home sold in the first three months of this year was €20,000 more expensive than the same period last year, at €330,000, up from €310,000 last year. Fewer homes for sale drive the prices up.
Energy-efficient homes reached a median price of €387,000, €71,000 higher than non-efficient homes. Buildings with a BER of B3 or better qualify for lower 'green' mortgage rates, further driving the shift towards energy-efficient properties.
Dublin city saw a rise in typical home prices to €500,000. New homes transacted at a median value of €408,000, indicating a premium of €106,000 over existing homes. However, the total number of new-home sales fell by 26% compared to the previous year.
