White Sox in 'serious' talks on building new South Loop stadium
Briefly

The Sox are reportedly negotiating with developer Retail Midwest about a possible new stadium in Chicago's South Loop, per the Chicago Sun-Times. Moreover, affiliated sources described the talks of the baseball stadium as 'serious' and asked to remain anonymous.
Longtime owner Jerry Reinsdorf and Jason Lee, adviser to Mayor Brandon Johnson, provided a joint statement on Chicago's rumored plans but would not give any fine details. 'We met to discuss the historic partnership between the team and Chicago and the team's ideas for remaining competitive in Chicago in perpetuity,' the statement said.
All in all, the White Sox are serious about taking steps to enhance their team and fan experience. Chicago has made free-agency moves to improve the depth of the team. However, it needs to stay focused through the MLB offseason for success in 2024. After all, the AL Central will not get any easier.
