The Cubs have purchased the contract of right-hander Kyle McGowin from the Atlantic League's Charleston Dirty Birds, with plans to send him to Double-A Tennessee.
McGowin, a former Nationals pitcher, had a career-high season in 2021 but was outrighted at the end. He excelled in the Atlantic League with two strong starts after struggling in Triple-A last year.
