Shouldn't we be putting a similar value on, and writing news headlines about, the kids who have reported being traumatized by sexual abuse and grooming tactics from 'trusted' adults?
The term that has been defined and widely used - educator sexual abuse or misconduct - aligns with Faith's Law (included in the OIG report) and the Illinois State Board of Education's Faith's Law Resource Guide.
The data doesn't make it clear on how many allegations were against teachers and staff members. At times, the numbers shown are being aggregated as a five-year summary instead of for the fiscal year.
