As I read about our state's lawmakers considering the need for a new flag and asking our governor to establish a commission for this purpose, I was shocked and dismayed, especially by the comments make by Sen. Doris Turner who is sponsoring the bill.Her motive she says is to get people "excited about Illinois again" and to provide "an opportunity for us [lawmakers] to engage with the electorate."
