Police in northwest suburban Elk Grove Village said they shot a man Friday while responding to a call reporting a man with a knife.
Police provided few details aside from saying the area near the shooting was secure, with no continued threat to public safety. The department's major case assistance team was investigating the shooting, according to the statement.
