Chicago White Sox sign Nick Senzel to a major-league deal after his release by the Washington Nationals

The Chicago White Sox remained active at the All-Star break by signing infielder/outfielder Nick Senzel to a major-league deal, a source confirmed to the Tribune on Tuesday evening.
Senzel played 64 games with the Washington Nationals this season, slashing .209/.303/.359 with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 18 RBIs.
He has a career .235/.302/.368 slash line with 63 doubles, 40 home runs and 143 RBIs during six major-league seasons with the Cincinnati Reds (2019-23) and Nationals (2024).
Senzel, 29, made 45 starts at third base this season. He has 88 career starts at the position. Senzel has also made 243 career starts at center field, 21 as a designated hitter (including 16 this season), 15 in left field, eight in right field and seven at second base.
