A cyclist was left seriously injured after being hit by a car on a road which was closed for the RideLondon cycling event. The rider was left with serious spinal injuries after being hit by the car in Ongar Road, in Fyfield, a village in Essex, at roughly 10.25am on Sunday May 26.
Detectives at Essex Police said: We believe there will be a significant number of people who will have witnessed what happened and we need them to come forward. If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
According to a road closure list circulated at the time of the event, Ongar Road would have been closed to traffic between 5am and 1pm.
