General Motors is recalling over 449,000 SUVs and pickup trucks due to a potential failure in electronic brake control module software, affecting warning light functionality.
The recall impacts various models including 2023-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESVs, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Tahoe, Suburban 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL.
Without the warning light indicating low brake fluid, drivers may operate their vehicles with compromised braking performance, significantly heightening the risk of accidents.
A free software update will be available to all affected vehicle owners, with notification letters being mailed out on Oct. 28.
