Stellantis CEO announced that sales of electric vehicles in nine European countries will start in September, followed by expansion to other regions like South America, the Middle East, Africa, India, and Asia Pacific in Q4.
Stellantis and Leapmotor plan to introduce T03 and C10 models initially, with a goal to launch one new model each year for the next three years to boost international sales.
The joint venture, Leapmotor International, is 51% owned by Stellantis and 49% owned by Leapmotor, focusing on manufacturing and selling Leapmotor's electric vehicles outside China, tapping into Stellantis' global reach.
Leapmotor CEO expressed that partnership with Stellantis would enable global manufacturing access for Chinese EV brands, highlighting the necessity to expand globally amid potential trade tensions like new tariffs by Biden administration.
