The introduction of free overnight parking in seven district centres aims to support residents needing late-night parking and boost the local nighttime economy.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon, emphasized the importance of addressing residents' and traders' concerns by revising parking charges for greater fairness and simplicity.
Free overnight parking will apply from 6pm to 6.59am, and was implemented on August 13 to reduce the burden on nighttime commuters and nighttime businesses.
The decision follows previous changes including one hour of free parking, illustrating a broader initiative to promote local businesses and enhance community convenience.
