A California Highway Patrol pursuit of individuals tied to a series of Watsonville car break-ins early Wednesday ended in a Highway 17 crash and three arrests.
Officers observed a stolen silver sedan and attempted to stop it, leading to a reckless pursuit, spike strip deployment, a crash, and fire on Highway 17.
One suspect, Luis Fernando Anaya-Castillo, 24, was booked into jail on charges including evading police, driving a stolen car, and resisting arrest.
CHP does not release names while cases are under investigation, but Anaya-Castillo was detained without bail post the Highway 17 incident.
