A Cybertruck is added to the Irvine Police Department fleet. Don't expect to see it on patrol

Irvine Police Department plans to add a Tesla Cybertruck for community relations, not as a patrol car, as part of sustainability goals and emission reduction efforts.

The city of Irvine received state funding to purchase electric vehicles, with the police department already using electric Ford Lightning trucks for patrols at the Great Park.
