John Deere announces expanded access to self-repair tools in Canada

Deere announced customers in Canada can download software updates remotely through its Equipment Mobile app to embedded controllers on 4G-connected John Deere Equipment.
Canadian customers and repair shops can purchase Deere's Customer Service ADVISOR tool for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairs directly from the company via e-commerce.
"This update for our customers in Canada is just the latest example of John Deere's commitment, and we will continue to work on enhancing and expanding these solutions even further in the future," said Deere's VP.
Pressure from lawmakers and farm groups on major equipment manufacturers like Deere to uphold farmers' 'right-to-repair' as digitized equipment with proprietary software becomes prevalent.
