The federal government has started imposing financial penalties on Canada Life due to delays in addressing medical claims for public servants, retirees, and their families.
The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada hopes these sanctions push Canada Life to change and address contractual obligations properly.
Canada Life had a six-month transitional period to prove their service level after taking over the public service health insurance plan, worth $514 million.
