Air Canada could begin suspending flights next weekend as strike deadline nears | CBC News
Briefly

Air Canada, facing negotiations with its pilots union, reported they are finalizing plans to suspend most operations by September 15 if an agreement is not reached.
The airline’s CEO, Michael Rousseau, stated, 'Air Canada believes there is still time to reach an agreement with our pilot group, provided ALPA moderates its wage demands.'
Union leader Charlene Hudy expressed the pilots' frustrations, stating, 'We're flying the same passengers in the same airspace... Those pilots are being compensated dramatically more than us.'
With an overwhelming 98% vote for action, the pilots push for wage parity with their U.S. counterparts who recently secured substantial pay hikes.
