Firefighters make progress on Mines Fire in eastern Alameda County
Briefly

A wildfire that broke out in Mendenhall Springs near Livermore was about half contained on Sunday afternoon. The Mines Fire, reported at 10 acres, was later mapped to be 5 acres with no injuries or property damage reported.
The cause of the Mines Fire is still under investigation, with 8 fire engines initially deployed, leaving only one remaining to address the remaining blaze.
The Mines Fire location is close to the Corral Fire site that burned over 14,000 acres earlier, indicating potential challenges in fire containment and control in the area.
