Wildfires have broken out across Northern California, including the fast-burning Thompson Fire that is threatening parts of Oroville. Fire officials are very concerned about the prospect of illegal fireworks on the 4th of July.
The heat dome settled over the Bay Area prompted weather service officials to extend an excessive heat warning for much of the region through 11 a.m. on July 9.
