CA Senate passes 3 bills that would create reparations agency, funding

The bills build on the more than 100 proposals for reparations released by California's Reparations Task Force in the summer of 2023 after two years of extensive and groundbreaking work.

SB 1403 would create the California Freedmen Affairs Agency to administer reparations for descendants of African Americans enslaved in the U.S. or free Black persons prior to the 19th century.
